Tanja on which areas of theatre production she specialises in...

“I have a special interest in new plays, in new writing and also in unusual locations.”

On how she came up with the business idea...

“I fell into it by writing a play, just for fun. So then I thought: ‘How hard can it be to produce it?!

“So I produced it, and then decided I wanted to know a little bit more about this world. I went to LA, did a Masters degree and then came back and started a business.”

On why she wanted to be an independent producer...

“The obvious place for me to go after finishing my masters was to maybe apply to larger theatres and work as maybe a marketing assistant, maybe in their press department. That’s often where people want to be producers.

“But then I realised that wasn’t where my main interest was. I had an interest in the extravagant outdoor spectacle. And that’s how I ended up thinking ‘I’m just going to be an independent producer.”
