Listen to Jane Miller talks about 'What you need to start a business'
Jane Miller on why clients come to her...
“People generally come to me because they’re at a stage in their business where they’ve either been going for a sometime and realise they’re not really making enough money, or find themselves getting tired and losing momentum, and finding it very hard to keep believing in themselves and their business.
What we discover quite often once we start looking at the business and their part in the business, is that most business problems are personal problems

“What we discover quite often once we start looking at the business and their part in the business, is that most business problems are personal problems. This is when I can wear my two hats - the coach looking at the business and helping them move forwards, and the therapist who’s helping them get to the point where they realise the problem is an old pattern and something that’s been triggered by something in the past.”
On self-help versus seeking help...
“There’s an awful lot to be learnt through self-help books, but where that can fall down is that so often we read them, but don’t actually put what we’ve learnt into practice. It’s the same as people giving you advice: someone can tell you something that you know is absolutely true, but it doesn’t necessarily hit home.
“So much is about patterns, habitual patterns that we follow or limiting beliefs. People say ‘I don’t think I can do that’, which is such a throwaway line, but it can be so powerful and so destructive. You must ask yourself: ‘is it important enough to want to do it’ and if it is then how can you go about accomplishing things.'”
