Recruitment boost suggests recovery

Magnifying glass, online recruitment

Online recruitment figures are up

The IT sector has led a recovery in the numbers of staff being recruited.

The Monster Employment Index UK, which measures the volume of recruitment made on the leading online recruiter’s website, rose last month by 13 points on January and seven points on February last year. The IT sector gained 15 points between January and February, an increase of 19%.

The figures provide further evidence of continuing economic recovery and also represent good news for the recruitment sector.

Eleven sectors recorded positive year-on-year growth, with production, manufacturing, maintenance and repair fields enjoying the largest rise, posting a 44% rise on last year. The field with the next biggest annual rise was sales with 30%, then arts, entertainment, sports and leisure with 21%.
