After meeting in Berlin for the past four years, the leading conference on international product- and business communication and its accompanying professional products and services fair returns to Barcelona.

From 14–16 June, decision makers, heads of communication departments, language service providers and translators will gather at the Gran Hotel Princesa Sofia where subject matter experts will present on specialised topics, report on leading edge trends and lead discussions.

Localization World 2011 will again host a pre-conference round table on the challenges of localization in Life Sciences. The round table begins the afternoon of 13 June and continues the next day and will include five areas of focus, including technological innovations and quality enhancement tools.

A further highlight for anyone responsible for marketing, internet, global branding and international sales will be the panel discussion on 14 June. The panel of experts will explore issues related to how to improve and increase brand integrity and market share across cultures, languages and locales. The various aspects of successful global brand management will be addressed.

The main conference begins 15 June with a keynote speech by Patrick Dixon, Europe’s leading trends researcher and consultant to many of the world’s largest companies, around the risks and opportunities regarding the Six Faces of Global Change and Five Key Technology Trends. Dixon is considered one of the 20 most influential thought-leaders in business and his many books have been translated into numerous languages.

“Following the keynote, the conference program, with its presentations, market trends and panel discussions will begin,” says Ulrich Henes, founder of the Localization Institute and co-organiser of Localization World. "The overall conference programme is grouped into five tracks which correspond to main activities in localization and international business. The focus areas cover general core competencies as well as sessions, which go deep into specialised topics."

Speakers from well-known companies will share their knowledge with attendees. For example, Rashmi Schaefer and Hajo von Kracht, from SAP, will show how localisation can be a strategic driver which enables a company to reach its sales goals. Lutz Niederer from eBay will discuss localisation challenges and Danica Brinton, from online gaming company Zynga will discuss localization of the online phenomenon called Cityville.

Another top speaker is Pedro Gomez from Microsoft. He will explain how Microsoft Office Business Intelligence combines smart technologies with human translation in order to support brand awareness and brand image.
