A leading industry forum for companies involved in wireless technologies is hosting a seminar for new and emerging businesses called ‘How to stay afloat’.
Experienced business leaders will address topics such as how to win and keep good customers, grant and investor options and how to keep costs down without damaging growth prospects. The masterclass, which is part of the Cambridge Wireless Discovering Start-Ups initiative, will take place at Nesta in London on the 12th of July from noon until 17:30pm.
Round-table sessions each chaired by a business expert will focus on specific problems and challenges and explore practical strategies to survive and build a successful business in the current economic climate.
Discussions will be led by successful entrepreneurs and industry leaders including Ben Whitaker from Masabi Mobile Tickets, Clive Rich from Rich Futures, Libby Kinsey from Nesta, Guy Nelmes from UKTI, Guy Hanson from BDO and serial business start-up specialist Harvey Jones. Issues covered include:

Working with customers: How to identify, approach and keep them and are your customers worth the time you spend with them?

Reducing your overheads: Why accountants don’t have flash premises and the trade-off between DIY and bought-in services. Can thinking global and working local save you money and what should you expect to pay for and get for free.

‘How to Stay Afloat’ is a free event for Cambridge Wireless members and invited guests and limited free tickets are also available to non-members.
