A Yurt at Deepdale campsite

On why she chose the business...

"We looked at outdoor stuff, and looked at a few different things, but this was something that would work throughout the whole season. Campsites are good for the summer months but many close in the winter, whereas having a hostel as well gave me the opportunity to have a year-round business that could be very successful."

On her desire to run a business...

"Coming home from overseas, I always wanted to find an opportunity, something that interested me and I could finance. Being overseas was like that: you run a resort, you make it work, and you run it for all intents and purposes, so I wanted to do that again."

On why she bought rather than started a business...

"With an established business, if you're new to business then a lot of the things at the beginning phase are already done. For example, the website's already up, there's already an advertising programme... you don't have to start it from scratch."
